In 2015, the enigmatic Sam Weston seemed to appear out of thin-air, a seemingly fresh upstart in the Australian House-scene releasing a dusty collection of late-night/early-morning jams aptly titled ‘Shiraz Voyager’. With this rose-tinted house EP in hand released on his own imprint Bad Magic Tapes, Weston arrived on the scene and people took notice. The tape sold out within weeks.
Ever evolving Weston’s follow-up EP released on Soothsayer ‘Never Been In Love’ sees Sam at his powerful best. Recorded on an isolated sojourn in the South Australian desert, Sam created some powerful and emotive tunes spun a plenty by respected radio & club djs of late.
No stranger to playing live as one half of influential Sydney duo Alba. Sam’s solo live performances have gotten rave review for his ability to engage an audience and whip a room into a heaving state. Between his productions, live performance and DJ sets Sam is always pushing quality that has gained a respectable following thoroughly deserved.
